Design Challenge & Requirements

Since several key iterations had been made to the original proposed product, it was apparent that the original research question and sub-question were too broad and unclear. Following these insights, a new design challenge was formalized, and an expansive set of requirements, with clear reasoning, was developed to ensure that all the key points of information from previous research and co-design sessions were accounted for.

Design Challenge

Creating a versatile, educational, and engaging interconnected play kit for babies that evolves with their developmental stages which aims to encourage independent play, develop motor skills and integrate seamlessly into a variety of living spaces, while ensuring it is made from safe, sustainable materials and retains engaging over extended periods.

List of Requirements.

To ensure that the entire set of insights gained from previous research, interviews and co-design sessions, an expansive list of requirements was derived. Each requirement is categorized into one of the 4 categories (Functional requirements, physical requirements, material requirements and aesthetic requirements) and accompanied by clear reasoning for its inclusion.
